Introducing Feast+
Feast+ is your branding toolkit for helping you define your brand, and apply it in a beautiful and consistent way across your homepage, categories and posts.
Brand your site with custom colors, fonts and pre-built customizations without having to learn CSS.
Unlike themes with point-and-click styling changes, Feast+ is designed to comply with mobile, pagespeed, accessibility and user experience best practices.
This means that you spend more time working on your content, and less time trying to understand and fix complicated, technical issues.

“This is so amazing! After a couple hours, I've been able to significantly improve the look of my site. And last year I spent $6k (US!) on fonts, logo, etc and my site barely looked any different.

How Feast+ saves you time & money
Our goal is to provide you with the tools and system to get close to $10,000 custom themes, without the hefty price tag.
Alternatively, point-and-click themes make it too easy to design a site that is a poor user experience because it lacks mobile optimization, accessibility compliance and doesn't have baked-in best practices for SEO and pagespeed. The technical depth of knowledge necessary to do this properly is impossible for the average site owner, and leads to constant headaches troubleshooting and fixing the issues.
The reason this is a subscription is because of the maintenance, develop and support necessary for customizations in a way that still complies with mobile, accessibility and SEO requirements as much as possible.
The average shelf life of a custom theme is about 2 years, because of the barrage of technical changes that come from WordPress, Google, Facebook, etc. We've even seen custom themes that were outdated before they even launched.
Instead of hiring a developer to style things like circle numbers on your site, these types of features are built-in! With Feast+, you benefit from ongoing updates and support without dropping $5,000 - 10,000 every 2-3 years.

A cohesively branded site... at a fraction of the cost of a custom site
In addition to the built-in technical benefits of the plugin, Feast+ allows you to build a beautiful brand on top of that solid foundation.
The reason this is a subscription is because of the maintenance, development and support necessary to provide customizations in a way that still complies with mobile, accessibility and SEO requirements as much as possible.
How is Feast+ different than other "themes"?
Built for SEO, Speed and CLS
Building off the Feast Plugin setup with a Feast theme, Feast+ remains optimized for SEO, pagespeed and CLS.
Professional Accessibility-Guided Settings
All of the settings in Feast Plus are built with accessibility in mind, making your site as easy to use with screen readers and keyboard as sighted users.
If you prefer more visual control, you can disable the accessibility fixes and design how you see fit.
Continuous Maintenance & Feature Updates
Standards for Google, WordPress, Accessibility and user experience are continually evolving on a monthly basis. When you custom or self-design, you either need to be constantly relearning and working on updates, or accept that you'll fall behind and eventually be penalized.
Feast+ is your partner in keeping on top of updates so that you can focus primarily on your content.
Built Specifically for Bloggers
These aren't your generic pagebuilder blocks that you have to arm wrestle into making work for you - they're purpose built for content creators in the food space to showcase your talent and increase engagement!
Site Wide Customizations without CSS
WordPress, and other custom blocks, are naively built with pagebuilder-style functionality that can cause long-term maintenance issues.
Feast Plus provides site-wide styling using custom classes that makes it a breeze to update your branding down the road.

All of the features have been curated to improve reader engagement with your content, which is a key metric that food brands look for when offering sponsoring content.
Inside the Feast+ Branding Dashboard
When non-developers make CSS changes to their site, it's typically only done from the perspective of how does this look instead of considering accessibility, SEO, pagespeed and user experience. This almost always leads to guideline violations that hurt you for months.
The branding page inside of Feast+ helps you to customize your site in a consistent way, and supports cohesive brand colors, smartly applied:
These settings are applied site-wide to:
- Advanced Jump To block
- Comment form
- Top Tip block
- Featured Review block
- Modern Categories
And we're just getting started.
All of this helps improve reader engagement with your content, which is a key metric that food brands look for when offering sponsored content.

Site-wide
Anything that you customize or colorize on an individual post, should be done site-wide to maintain a consistent brand experience. Feast+ allows you to achieve this by implementing best practices, where applicable.
Note: one-off pages such as the homepage, "about", contact, etc. are exempt from this.
This is because when you change an individual block, it only affects that one post. This means that you end up with hundreds, or thousands of posts, with all different styles that must be manually changed post-by-post.
This is so important because just like yesterdays standards for SEO, accessibility, pagespeed, mobile optimization and user experience are outdated and no longer acceptable, todays standards will need to be adapted to.
You will need to update and change your content and styling over time, and without a consistent, systematic design today, you'll lose weeks or months going back and editing posts one-by-one.
Price
Feast+ is a separate subscription at $999/year on top of the Feast Plugin, which covers the additional support costs for customizations that can run $10,000 - $20,000+ from custom theme companies.
And unlike custom themes, we update and maintain our setup as part of the cost.
Who is this for?
Feast+ is for recipe site owners that understand that content is the ultimate decider in their success, and want to focus on that.
It expands the scope of what we offer for more advanced bloggers, and allows you to more easily brand your site without having to learn CSS, so that you can continue to focus on content creation.
Anyone starting a food blog in 2024 would do best jumping straight onto the Feast Plugin, and upgrading to Feast+ once the need for branding justifies the $999/year price.
Frequently Asked Questions
No, the Feast Plugin is where all core functionality, SEO enhancements and accessibility best practices lives. Feast+ helps you define your brand's colors, fonts and more, and cohesively apply it across your site. It does this in an accessibility-compliant way, but in the future, we may allow those who don't care about this to ignore it.
Genesis is stable, which means it doesn't cause breaking changes. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Genesis.
We've chosen to not build on other frameworks because they suffer exactly the same problems that Genesis had years ago, which is that regular updates cause breaking changes that can create dozens of hours of work for you, the blogger.
Relying on both a framework (parent theme) and theme company (child theme) for functionality is a recipe for problems.
Frameworks are a failed experiment and belong in the past. Any discussion about frameworks is missing the forest for the trees.
Feast+ is built entirely on core WordPress, free from any framework.
No, this is not a custom theme. I don't want anybody to be misled here: this is not a custom theme. It's a fresh coat of paint based on the most popular requests we've had over the years, and the options will expand over time.
It's intentionally limited in scope, because every change and variation requires thoroughly testing against mobile, SEO, pagespeed, accessibility and user experience best practices.
But you probably will not get everything done exactly how you want. If you have a hard set of requirements that you absolutely need done, you should go with a $10,000 - $20,000+ custom theme.
Unfortunately, not all fonts have characters for all languages and we're unable to support non-English sites.
