The Feast setup avoids pagination wherever possible.
Pagination is a lower quality user experience and a sign that the site owner hasn't organized their posts properly.
It also negatively affects SEO by not providing proper queues and internal link signals for Google to understand the overall site structure and topical silos, so that it can properly rank a site based on depth of expertise.
Recipe Index
The Modern Recipe Index is a page whose sole job is to drive users to categories, and featured posts.
We don't recommend or support paginating the recipe index.
Categories
The categories guide provides all the necessary details on how to organize posts to avoid pagination.
- Posts should be tightly organized into categories containing roughly 8-40 posts
- Once a category exceeds 40 posts, some posts should be split into a more specific, user friendly category
- Each post should have the most user beneficial category assigned as the primary category in Yoast
- Create high quality category pages with the Modern Categories
We do not recommend child-categories (sub-categories) as detailed in the categories guide.
