Excerpts

Our setup doesn't use excerpts, and we don't recommend or support their use.

This is because:

• the post title and image should convey all the information a reader needs to know to click on the link
• excerpts add DOM nodes which negatively impacts pagespeed
• they create excessive scrolling on the homepage and categories

Excerpts have their place on news sites and other niches, but are a net negative user experience on most small publisher sites.
