The block options setting enables a number of customizations on a block-by-block basis.

Pages only
This is a general warning and strongly held opinion, that you can feel free to ignore once you understand it.
We strongly recommend against using this in ANY posts due to long-term maintenance issues.
The intent of this is for it to be used only on PAGES such as:
- homepage
- about page
- contact us
- recipe index
Why? In-content styling/changes that are done on a page-by-page and block-by-block basis, requires going back and editing them page-by-page and block-by-block in the future. This means that when, not if you need to change something because of accessibility, user experience, SEO, or other reason, you have to manually go change them everywhere.
We know MANY people who have literally spent weeks updating HUNDREDS of posts because things were done inconsistently.
Most bloggers have a handful of one-off pages that can be manually changed if some update requires it. That's fine. But it's pure insanity to have to do that to 500 posts.
Posts should use site-wide styling, and we recommend avoiding block options on posts.
